Look and feel

If you look at the box, it’s similar to the Edge Premium series. It’s an environment friendly box & it’s made of recycled materials. It looks premium, even the box. And it’s coming out! I’m going to show you the phone, so wait for that. First, there’s documentation, a sim card tool, a 33W charger. So that’s nice, fast charging. you’re getting quite a lot. USB Type A to Type C charging cable.
Build Quality
It’s Viva Magenta colour, the Pantone colour of the year. And it looks stunning! It literally looks like a Rs 35-40K phone. That’s how good it feels in hand & looks also. It’s made of vegan leather, there are 3 colours available. There’s PMMA in Black, Blue & Black. But you get vegan leather in Blue & Black. It’s very thin & light. Motorola has been launching really good looking phones for the past few days. And this is probably at the top of the heap. The colour of the year is also written here. You can see the Motorola logo above the box. Looks are very nice, there are flat sides. There’s a 3.5mm jack for ports & buttons. There’s a Microphone, USB Type C port, speaker grill. On the right, there’s a power on & off button & a volume rocker. There’s also a noise cancelling microphone. Dolby Atmos is written here. There’s a SIM card tray on the left. There’s a hybrid SIM card slot. You can use 2 SIM cards or 1 SD card. So you get expandable storage. It’s very light & I’d say it’s a pocket friendly phone. It won’t feel too heavy. The in hand feel is also excellent. Externals are absolutely stunning. There’s energy glass protection.
display
Let’s start the phone. If I talk about the display, it’s a 6.55” FHD+, P-OLED display. It has a 120Hz fast refresh rate & supports HDR. But we’ll talk about that later, HDR is a little interesting in this phone. But yes, the display supports it. If you look at the bezels, they’re very thin on both sides. Even the chin is small. So the screen-to-body ratio of this phone is amazing. The brightness is 1300 nits, it’s quite bright as well. Very bright. So that is good. So definitely a big thumbs up for the display. Display is excellent, colours are good. POLED is a very good display & colours look good. So your video viewing experience is going to be good. But more than that, the audio is good. It has stereo speakers & Dolby Atmos is tuned. So it’s loud & clear. You’ll enjoy watching multimedia on Netflix. But remember, as it’s a 695 SoC, you won’t be able to watch HDR. Because it’s a processor limitation. Even on the connectivity side, it’s right up there. I’d say it’s the best connectivity under Rs 20K. Because it supports VoNR, so you can do 5G calls. Like VoLTE, which was a 4G calling, you get 5G calling here. So that’s there. There’s a 4×4 MIMO support. There are 14 5G bands, so there’s support for all the bands. Everything is there. There’s 3rd band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1 & NFC support. So connectivity options are all there. Big thumbs up there as well! Sensors are in-display fingerprint sensors. There’s POLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock. All of them work well. All the sensors are there, including NFC.
Performance
Now let’s talk about the specifications. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, which is a tried & tested processor. It’s a good & stable processor. But the big thing is, it comes in 12GB RAM & 256GB storage under Rs 20K. It comes with LPDDR4X RAM type & UFS 2.2 storage type. So even though the processor is a little old, but if you want to multitask, then 12GB RAM is definitely going to help you. 12GB RAM & 256GB storage. If we talk about the AnTuTu score, it’s around 4.20L. If you want to play games, you can do it on medium settings. You’ll get 30-40FPS on BGMI & COD Mobile. So you’ll be able to play games on medium settings.
Camera

Motorola’s phones are improving in camera. We’re slowly seeing improvements in the next phones. There’s no difference in this as well. One thing I liked is the functional camera setup at the back. You get a 50MP primary OIS camera. And the secondary ultrawide camera is 8MP. It doesn’t have the useless 2MP cameras. And you can shoot macros with the ultrawide camera, which is good. The low light performance of the primary sensor is good. They’ve really improved on low light performance. Even the colours are good, they’re close to neutral colours. Portrait is average. There’s a 16MP selfie sensor. Again, the skin tones are close to neutral. Overall, it’s a decent camera, slightly above average. As I said, cameras are improving on Motorola phones. And if you want to see all the photos in original quality, I’m giving you the G-Drive link in the description below. Go & check it out in original quality. Video Graphics The Qualcomm SD695 has a limitation that it doesn’t shoot 4K. Because of that, it shoots 1080p at 60FPS in Rare. And you get 1080p at 30FPS in the front. That’s videography. Features There’s a dual mode, you can use the front & back camera for photos & videos. There’s a pro mode, portrait mode, slow motion, night vision mode.
Battery
It has a 5000mAh battery & 33W fast charging.
Ui
OS UI Motorola phones have a good thing, there’s no bloatware & you get a clean Android experience. So this one is no different. You get a clean Android experience on the G84 as well. It comes with 3GB virtual RAM, ThinkShield, Moto Secure, so you can do private folders. So all that is there. If we talk about updates, you get Android 14 & 3 years of security updates. So 1 plus 3. Now there are some features of the Edge series. There’s a box & it looks like the Edge series. But yes, there’s a software feature called ReadyFor which is available on the premium Motorola phones. Essentially, if you want to cast it on a big screen, you can do it very easily & seamlessly. It has a standout multimedia performance. But there are some caveats as well.
other features
Basically, you get all the standard features in the camera. Features There’s FM Radio, IP54 certification. In the G series, you used to get IP52, now you get IP54 certification. So it’s more dust & water resistant, that’s good. There’s no notification light, SAR values are within limits.
Conclusion
It looks really good. Connectivity & Multimedia is amazing. Display is amazing. I’d say the performance camera could’ve been better. But for the price, it offers you a lot. It’s priced below Rs 20K. If you look at everything, you should definitely look at this if you have a budget of Rs 20K. There are some offers on the screen, go & check them out. You get 12GB RAM & 256GB ROM. That’s good, under Rs 20K.
